AFFECTED  BY AIRPLANE  MANAGER  DISCONTINUING  ITS  CHARTER  PRODUCT?

Some  better  &  Cheaper  Alternatives  to Airplane  Manager

You got the notice from Airplane Manager and immediately thought to yourself....."WHAT!?" and then you said out loud..."WHY!?".

Charter operators on Airplane Manager are justifiably annoyed right now.

And it appears that management at Airplane Manager are playing coy and will never reveal the real reason they made this seemingly absurd decision. That will remain a total mystery.

It's  Not As  Bad  as  You  Think

Sure...you now have to scramble and spend a massive amount of time and energy (that you don't have to spare), and find a replacement solution for Airplane Manager. Then you need to migrate all your flight operations data to the new system. And then there's the massive coordinated effort to get everyone trained on using something new.

But this can turn out to be a good thing for your flight operation. There are limitations to Airplane Manager with some features or functions you have always not liked and you wish you could change. But Airplane Manager has a long standing history of refusing to make any customer requested modifications.

And if you are on the mid or top tier plans, there is the cost to consider. There are some good savings to be had with some of the other programs.

So let's think of this as an opportunity to find the best fit for your flight operation and likely find something that does things better than Airplane Manager and at a lower cost.

What  Other  FLIGHT  OPERATIONS  MANAGEMENT  PROGRAMS  ARE  OUT THERE?

For USA based Part 135 Operators, there are roughly ten different programs to consider. Some of them are legacy programs and don't serve any purpose in a modern flight department. And others are new and shiny with exceptional functionality. Very few of them offer top notch customer service....and NONE OF THEM, bar one, will customize or update the system to suit your unique flight operations needs.

And prices vary wildly from thousands per month down to just $75 per month.

But not all programs (including ours) are a good fit for every flight operation. Depending on how you manage your other operational tasks (other than Charter Quoting for which you relied on Airplane Manager), will determine which alternative management software programs are best suited to your flight operation. We will gladly point you in the right direction if we are not a good fit.

An  All-in-one  system  that  does  everything  is  always  the  best  bet

Things have come a long way in the last 10 years where flight ops no longer need to rely on 3 or more different software solutions to manage all the flight operations tasks. As a minimum, you should be migrating to a system that does QUOTING, SCHEDULING, FLIGHT LOG APP, MAINTENANCE TRACKING, ELECTRONIC RECORD KEEPING, FLIGHT & DUTY TRACKING, CREW CURRENCY TRACKING and SAFETY MANAGEMENT FRAT.
